Eat Healthy For Healthy Weight Loss
It may seem that everyone is pushing a healthy diet plan today. The types and kinds vary. If all the diet books were gathered together the sheer volume of pages would be enormous. Doctors, athletes and even television stars all seem to have their own ideas on how eat to loose weight.
If you want to have a healthy lifestyle, some keys are found in what you eat. Remember that nothing is actually off limits, but everything should be done in moderation. Balanced eating of foods from all food groups is necessary for healthy living. You need a balanced portion of grains, fruits and vegetables, dairy products and proteins.
It is important to be sure you are drinking enough water. Every day you should have 64 ounces in order to ensure proper hydration. It doesn’t matter if you drink it in 32-2 ounce Dixie cups or have a couple of 1 liter bottles that you sip on throughout the day, you have to have your water. Lack of hydration can cause unclear thinking, kidney problems or other problems with the systems of your body. Remember 64 ounces daily and coffee, tea or soda do not count.
Eat the correct balance of calories each day. If you eat too many, you will gain weight. Excess weight is a vicious cycle. You have gained weight, so you feel sluggish and do not want to exercise. You do not exercise and you gain more weight. You look at the scale and are depressed, so you eat more junk and comfort food. If you eat too few calories, you will lose muscle and lack energy. Continually eating too few calories may lead to malnutrition.
Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables add variety and flavor to the diet. Fresh vegetables satisfy the need for a crunch that we often fill with over processed fatty chips. Fruits can be used to satisfy the craving we have for sweets.
While proteins are necessary building blocks for repair in the body, a little goes a long way. We have been duped by many restaurant chains into thinking that we should have mega-sized portions of protein at every meal, when 8-9 ounces per day is enough for most people. Go ahead and enjoy your proteins, but keep that diet balanced for the healthiest living.
Watch your fat intake. Your body does need healthy fats, but not all of those unhealthy fats that have become a normal part of the American diet. Nuts as well as olive oil include the correct fats your body needs. French fries and burgers do not. A low fat diet that does include the healthy fats will lead to a healthy lifestyle.
Healthy living requires more than just a change in diet. Healthy living requires a change in lifestyle.
