Want To Know How To Make Pizza Crust?
People are asking how to make pizza crust at home. It’s just a few steps to make a delicious homemade pizza.
The first thing you’ll need is a recipe. They are very easy to find on the Internet. Look for a simple one with the most often used ingredients: flour, water, salt, oil and yeast. That’s all you really need to make a great pizza crust.
Before we start, we should mention a good cooking habit to get into. Measure out and assemble all your recipe ingredients before you start. That way the whole mixing procedure can go very quickly and without stopping.
Mix together all your dry ingredients first before adding liquid. Put the salt, yeast and flour into a bowl and stir them well, then add the water. The water should be lukewarm and optimally around 105 degrees for good yeast fermentation.
Using a heavy spoon or other kitchen utensil, begin to stir the ingredients together. It will get stiff rather fast, but just keep turning the mixture until a ragged ball of dough forms. Add the oil and continue until all ingredients have been incorporated.
Kneading the dough comes next. Turn out the dough ball onto a floured work surface. Add a little flour to the ball and to your hands to prevent sticking. You’ll likely need more during the kneading process, so just put a cup of so in a little dish near the work area.
Kneading is very simple. Just push down and away, flattening the dough as you work. Next fold the dough over itself and rotate 90 degrees. Push down and away again, fold and turn. Repeat this process for about 5 minutes or until the ball of dough takes on a smooth shine and is very elastic when you pull it apart.
After placing the dough in an oiled bowl, move it all around to coat with the oil. Put plastic wrap over it and put it in a warm part of the kitchen. After about two hours it should be doubled in size.
Once risen, turn the dough out onto a floured surface again and flatten and shape it some with your hands. Begin rolling it out with a rolling pin until you get the thickness you want. Many people prefer a 1/8″ thickness.
After rolling, transfer the dough to your baking pan. Be careful as it can tear. If it does, try to pinch it closed. If this doesn’t work, simply wad it up into a ball again and re-roll it. When successful at getting it to the pan, trim as necessary to make it fit and look good.
